The Pot Hopper is a precision-engineered, 4.5-gram pot gripper made in the USA, designed to safely lift and pour from hot cookware without built-in handles. How It Began
UltraGrip started with a clear and uncompromising goal: replace bulky 20–30 gram fixed pot handles with something you barely notice (lighter than a U.S. nickel just 4.5 g) without sacrificing control, comfort, or durability.
Anyone who’s cooked on the trail knows the downsides of traditional handles: they rattle in your pack, heat up quickly near the flame, and add unnecessary weight to every mile. Igneous set out to create a solution that performs just as well at a fraction of the weight, while packing neatly inside your pot alongside your stove, fuel canister, and lighter for a cleaner, quieter kit.
Why Pot Hopper
Many stock pot handles weigh around 24 grams and can become too hot to handle. Pot Hopper eliminates that compromise - cutting weight dramatically while improving usability, packability, and overall cooking comfort in the backcountry.
Best Use
The Pot Hopper is optimized for solo to two-person ultralight kits and narrower titanium pots around 750 ml. It also works with cylindrical pots up to approximately 1100 ml, but physics still applies: as pot size increases, so does torque (twisting force).
Wider pots create more twisting load on both the gripper and your hand. For best performance, choose taller, narrower pots over short, wide ones.
